Pursuant to the decision of Parliament, the following shall be enacted:
Section 1
The inspection of films and other audiovisual programmes shall belong to the Finnish Board of Film Classification, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Education.
The duty of the Finnish Board of Film Classification shall be to act as the classification authority referred to in the Act on the Classification of Audiovisual Programmes (775/2000). In addition, the Board of Film Classification shall attend to the other duties separately provided for it in an Act or in a Government Decree.
Section 2The Board of Film Classification shall have a Director who manages the Board. The Director confirms Standing Orders of the Finnish Board of Film Classification.

Section 3
The duties, the offices and their qualifications, the duties of the officials and other administration of the Board of Film Classification shall be further provided for in a Government Decree and regulated thereunder in the standing orders.

This Act shall enter into force on 1 January 2001.
