Instructions for filling in the form on an interactive audiovisual programme (such as a computer or video game)

The two official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish. Therefore there are no forms in English. Please, fill in either a Finnish language form or a Swedish language form. These instructions guide the customer through the filling in process.

In the upper right-hand corner the customer (the manufacturer, importer, presenter or distributor of the game) defines (with a check) whether the game programme is registered (in which case the customer itself defines the age-limit recommendation for the game) or whether its classification is applied for (in which case the Classification Board determines the age limit).

The customer fills in the information on the programme (the game) in the upper part of the form. The Finnish Board of Film Classification fills in the information in the lower part of the form and issues to the customer either an extract from the interactive audiovisual programme register or the classification decision with instructions for appeal depending on whether the case involves a registration or a classification.

The register extract and the classification decision are official proof of the fact that the game has been registered or classified as required by the law. The register extract or classification decision shall accompany each copy of the programme to be shown. The product packages of interactive audiovisual programme recordings rented, sold or otherwise conveyed for home use have to bear the age-limit and other identification information either on a sticker or in printed form. A separate notice contains information on the printing models and the ways for acquiring the stickers.

Julkaisupäivä / Datum för publicering =The date of publication
Means the date of the publication of the game in Finland.

Ohjelman nimi, Alkuperäinen nimi / Programmets namn, orginaltitel = The title, original title of the programme         

The title used of the game in distribution in Finland and the original title of the game if the names are different. 

Valmistaja / Framställare = The manufacturer

The manufacturer or producer (publisher) of the game.

Maahantuoja,levittäjä, esittäjä / Importör, distributor, förevisare   = Importer / distributor / exhibitor

The company or other corresponding entity making a registration of the game or applying for its classification.

Formaatti / Format = Format

The presentation format of the game registered/applied for classification. The information is especially important if classification is sought for the game.

Käyttöjärjestelmä, laitteistovaatimukset /Operativsystem och krav på hårdvara / Operating system and equipment requirements

Indicate the kind of machine needed to play the game. The information is especially important if classification is sought for the game.

Levyjen lukumäärä / Antal skivor  =   The number of disks

i.e., information on the number of cd or other disks on which the game is packed.

Ohjelman EAN- eli viivakoodi tai muu vastaava tunniste / Spelets EAN-kod eller motsvarande kännetecken = The EAN or bar code or other corresponding identifier of the programme

The information facilitates the identification of different versions of the game.

Ohjelman aihe/laji / Spelets ämne/genre = Topic/class of the programme

The type or genre of the game. The information is important because it tells about the nature of the game.

Selostus ohjelman tapahtumista / Utredning om handlingen i programmet = Account of the events of the programme

The form must always be accompanied by a short description of the plot. The account will have to indicate what takes place in the game, what its purpose is and how the events have been implemented. The form will not be handled by the Classification Board if the account is missing.

Ohjelmaa esitetään ja levitetään vain 18 vuotta täyttäneille / Programmet visas och distribueras endast till personer över 18 år = The programme will be shown and distributed only to those over 18 years of age.

If the game, due to its brutality or sexual contents or by raising horror or in some other corresponding way is likely to have a harmful effect on the development of children, it may not be distributed to those under 18 years of age.

Suositusikäraja / Åldersgränsrekommendation = Recommended age-limit

If a registration is made of the game, this field is for the recommended age that the customer intends to mark on the sales package of the game

Perustelut suositusikärajalle / Motivering för åldersgränsrekommendation = Motivation for the recommended age limit

Possible grounds for the age limit presented in the previous point ( e.g. information on ELSPA classification).

Ikäraja-anomus /Ansökan om åldersgräns = Age-limit application

If the game is submitted for classification, this field is for the age limit that the customer hopes will be granted in the classification of the game.

Palautettava aineisto noudetaan / toimitetaan postitse / Material som återhämtas/sänds per post = The material to be returned will be fetched/mailed

Information on how the customer wants the material submitted to the Classification Board to be returned to him. This mainly applies to the classification of a game.

 Yhteystiedot / Kontaktuppgifter = Contact information

As complete contact information of the customer as possible: the name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address etc. of the person handling the matter so that the customer can be contacted quickly if necessary.

Huomautuksia / Anmärkningar = Remarks

Here you can enter a request for urgent handling of the application, etc.

Allekirjoitus / Underskrift = Signature
